New Fiber Optic Network Serving South Longview

November 15, 2013

Network Communications has begun groundwork on the installation of a new fiber-optic network to make high-speed Internet and phone service, available to area businesses and companies on the south side of Longview, Texas.

The new project, contracted with the Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO), runs from the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Eastman Road, following along Estes Parkway, through to the East Texas Regional Airport, with completion expected by the end of 2014.

“This network will provide access to high-band connectivity to Longview businesses on the city’s south side and offer an incentive to attract new business, which in the end will benefit all of Gregg County,” said Tony Cason, president of Network Communications.

To date, Network Communications has built more than 375 miles of fiber-optic network throughout the Longview area. The previous partnership between Network Communications and LEDCO in 2010 resulted in the installation of a fiber-optic network in the North Business Park Corridor.
