Network Communications Workforce Development Focuses on Cybersecurity

November 11, 2016

School is back in session for 16 Network Communications staff members in Marshall, as they recently began an 84-hour course on cybersecurity and comprehensive networking at Texas State Technical College.

The one-day-a-week training, part of the company’s ongoing workforce development program, was made possible by the Texas Workforce Commission, who provided $35,000 to cover the costs of the course, including the TSTC instructors, books and materials.

“The ongoing development of the Network Communications staff is critical to providing the most advanced and knowledgeable service possible,” said Tony Cason, president of Network Communications. “And everyday in the news, we are reminded of the need for stronger vigilance in cybersecurity. This special training is just one of the many steps we take to protect our customers. We would like to thank the Texas Workforce Commission and TSTC for making this possible.”

The Network Communications staff will complete the course in May 2017.
